What do I need to know before I arrive for my visit?

Masks are optional after July 1, 2022 EXCEPT with Jess Schoolcraft; all services with Jess require a mask until further notice! NO EXCEPTIONS. The * by employee names means they are 100% COVID-19 and flu vaccinated! Please note that each visit will have a $1.85 eco charge. We pay $4.00 per client and appreciate your help in reducing waste created by our service providers for your hair, skin, and body needs!

ALL SALES ARE FINAL! No returns, exchanges, or refunds. All appointments canceled within 24-hours or no-showed will result in a cancellation fee. Offsite/travel appointments canceled within seven days will also result in a cancellation fee of the full cost of scheduled service(s). NO EXCEPTIONS! Please respect our time, boundaries, and policies.

Face cradle/headrest may be covered with a pillow case while face down during massages. You may choose to wear a mask instead. Please do not remove face covering unless directed to by your service provider.

Please use our online booking link to schedule or call during business hours. Google, Vagaro, Facebook, and Instagram messages are challenging to respond to quickly, cannot be marked unread, and we get poor ratings if we cannot respond within 30 minutes. We are all working full time, many of us juggling kids, and we spend a lot of time and money on the booking link to make things easier for you and us!

How can I make the most of my BW visit and services?

What is a chemical peel?

A chemical peel is a hydroxy acid or enzyme solution that is applied to the skin. Peels dissolve the glue that binds the outermost layer of skin cells, which then "peels" (flakes) off over the following days to reveal the fresher, younger layer below. Peels are very effective in treating a large range of skin concerns such as aging, sun damage, acne, mild scarring, improving skin brightness, and evening skin tone.

Peels can be light, moderate or deep. Light peels require no down time from work and your normal activities. Moderate peels may require a day or two, and deep peels can require a week or more of down time to allow the skin to fully heal. We have peels suitable for teenagers and pregnant women as well as women and men of all ages and skin types.

What is microdermabrasion?

Microdermabrasion can be helpful to treat aging and sun-damaged skin, altered pigmentation, fine lines and wrinkles, stretch marks, and some types of acne and acne scarring. It is especially effective in treating the under-eye area and crow’s feet. 

Results may include improved circulation (fresh blood will help feed the skin) and skin tone, reduced visual appearance of aging, fewer breakouts, diminished appearance of scars, refined skin pores, renewed elasticity, and a healthy glow. 

Bikini waxing;
what's the difference?

In our practice, the standard bikini wax includes just the pubic hair that would show outside of the bathing suit line. A French bikini wax is a landing strip on the top with the sides taken in to be in line with the strip, and the Brazilian and everything front to back with the option of leaving a strip behind on the top. We do not perform any male bikini waxing. 

What do I wear
for a massage?

In our practice, we welcome all clients to stay fully clothed, completely undress, or anything in between;  long as you are comfortable. It is important to note that this is a professional practice and we will not tolerate any sexual advances or inappropriate behavior on the premises. 

What parts of my body will be uncovered during my massage?

If you are comfortable being nude during a massage session, we may work on your gluteal muscles unless you request that we do not. All genitalia and breast tissue (women) will remain draped. We love working on the abdomen, so if you are comfortable with a belly massage, please let us know!

Do I have to be flexible
to practice yoga?

Not at all; all ages and body types can practice yoga! In fact, our level 1 yoga classes are great for people who don't do, or have never done, yoga. All yoga poses should be modified for comfort and can be done in a chair. Come and try a class! If you have any questions, injuries, or concerns, arrive early and we can chat about them.

Where did the name,
"Blythe," come from?

When my father was in college, he read the novel, The Blithesdale Romance. He took my name from that as well as the daughter of one of his favorite radio personalities. Of course, Blythe Danner was also popular then, too! Yes, my father gave me that book with a lovely inscription when I turned ten. My dog ate most of it shortly thereafter and I have mourned the loss ever since. I have a duplicate copy but it is not vintage nor is it the same; I am a daddy's girl!

Blythe, spelled bithe in the dictionary, means carefree. I have only in the last decade started to live up to this definition, but actively try to and achieve this with my yoga practice, spirituality, and my super chill husband and daughters! 

Can I receive a refund?

All sales are final and we do not regularly offer refunds on any services, product, or gift cards. If you have a concern regarding a service or an employee, please email us and communicate your concerns; allow us the opportunity to make it right. We are a small business in the middle of a pandemic and have been burned many times by people trying to take advantage of us and we simply cannot afford that. We are a learning culture salon and prefer to learn from situations where clients leave wanting to give us fewer than a five star review. If you have a product that is unopened and purchased within seven days we will gladly exchange it for another item of equal or greater value.

What if I need to cancel
my appointment?

As soon as you know you need to reschedule, please visit our online booking link (preferred), email, or call us. We understand that life happens but we will not accept scheduled appointments without a credit card on file in order to protect our employees and business. Any missed or "no show" appointments and those canceled within 24 hours will result in a charge of 50%-100% of the service(s) scheduled. Please remember that this is a business and we must have solid boundaries in place for our protection. 
Please note that our cancellation policy will change on January 1, 2023. We will require 36 hours for cancellations and the no-show and cancellation fees will be 100% of the service(s) booked and missed. 

Why do I complete my
waivers and form online?

The reduction of waste generated by our business is very important to us. We cannot legally perform services without waivers and forms on file and we will not provide a paper version in the studio. All forms will be filled out online prior to your appointment to allow you to better understand our policies, enjoy your visit with us, and allow you to readily update health and personal information. All forms will be stored securely and confidentially with our software system.

Do you offer any regular discounts?

We have a few standing benefits for our guests because we love and appreciate you so much! All fellow veterans, service members, civil servants (police and fire) senior citizens, and students with valid ID will receive 10% off of regularly priced services (not on monthly specials or previously discounted services). We do have a rewards point system with discounts when you cash them in (not all employees honor discounts). We always offer 25 reward points (10% off next service) for referrals. Sending us your friends and family is the best compliment we can receive from you!  

What do you recycle?

YES! If it can be recycled or composted, we will find a way to recycle it! Additionally, we strive for a sustainable and eco-friendly business when making decisions on cleaning supplies, products, retail, and all aspects of our company. Can pregnant women and
children receive services;
can I bring my child with me?

Absolutely! We treat women during all stages of pregnancy, even the first trimester! If you have any health concerns or potential contraindications, always ask your physician first. We welcome all children into our salon, spa, and yoga studio with parental consent and, when necessary, accompaniment. Please remember that the spa and yoga studio are quiet spaces and soft voices must be used. Additionally, children are welcome with their parents as long as they are not destructive or disturbing other customers and students. BW is NOT responsible for children while their parents receive services. It is the parents' responsibility to watch their child(ren) at all times or you may be asked to leave.

What is the eco fee?

The salon and spa industry are one of the most waste-producing industries to be in. We plan to change that. Team BW has signed up with Green Circle Salons in an effort to reduce the carbon footprint of our services.
